Services were at the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg for Elmer Cleveland "Shortly'' Hack, 87, a life resident of the Yeddo area. He died early Saturday (April 15, 1972) at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mildred Carter, in LaPorte. T'he Rev. Allen C. Anstutz officiated. Burial was in Coopers Chapel Cemetery near Veedersburg. Mr. Hack was born Sept. 15, 1884, in rural Fountain County, he son of William and Laura Crowder Hack. On Feb. 21, 1913, in Danville, he married Blanche Elizabeth Hoag, who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Church of God. Survivors include four sons, William of Wanatah, James of Yeddo, Richard of Hillsboro and Donald of Martinsville; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hoffman of Lafayette and Mrs. Carter; two brothers, Walter of Cayuga and Chance in Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Davis of Covington and Mrs. Hazel Miller of Bloomingdale; and 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters and two brothers.  --typed by Walt W
